This past weekend, we were thrilled to be a part of the Electric City Classic a project of Scranton Tomorrow Presented by Geisinger & produced by Long Tail Creative.

Electric City Classic is a “Two-day cycling festival in Downtown Scranton, PA hosted by Scranton Tomorrow! Features both local and professional racing for fun family entertainment!” The event kicked off Saturday morning with the PA Cycling Associations Pennsylvania Criterium Championship.  Racers from all around the stated lined up and pinned on a number for a chance to stand on that top step.  The course was a 10 turn course laid out on a very small footprint. It made use of Scranton’s very wide streets by having two way traffic on certain sections of the course.  Doing this allowed the race designers to keep the overall street closure relatively small compared to other races.  The entire course was lined with hard metal fencing, including fencing separating the sections that had 2 way traffic. The second day, Sunday, was a hill climb tournament among a section in the city with a 20+ percent grade on a cobbled street.

We were asked to help out with criterium logistics including athlete management, and course management, as well as provided drone footage of the day.  We filmed hours of drone footage, but put together a quick 30 second video for you to see some of the highlights.

It was a great day, we love being a part of the cycling community and helping to make races happen.  We are already looking forward to next year.

If you need logistics or planning assistance with your race, please reach out to us!

Next event – see you at the 2022 Bucks County Classic on September 11 in Doylestown!

Here’s some drone footage we shot during the race.
